CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Crystal Planning Commission convened at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: APPROVED(with changes) Minutes of May 9, 2011 Planning Commission Meeting Page 2 of 2 J:\PLANNING\Planning Commission\2011\05.09\minutes.doc Moved by Commissioner VonRueden and seconded by Commissioner Strand to recommend to the City Council to approve Application 2011-05 to re-plat 6000 56th Avenue North to include adjacent vacated streets. Motion carried unanimously. D. OLD BUSINESS – None heard E. NEW BUSINESS 1. Presentation from the Shingle Creek Watershed Management Organization by Crystal Councilmember Janet Moore F. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Quarterly Development Status Report - printed report supplied to commission 2. City Council action on previous Planning Commission items. Commissioner Heigel asked if any further action had been taken on item 2, the consideration of the Cub Foods application to create a separate parcel. Mr. Sutter said the deadline is May 11 to receive information from Cub for the May 17 Council meeting. 3. Staff preview of likely agenda items for June 13, 2011 meeting includes the city splitting the lot located at 4044 Hampshire Avenue to enlarge Hagemeister Pond Park. G. OPEN FORUM – Council Liaison Deshler asked about the undeveloped portions of the lots owned by Hennepin County located north of 56th Avenue and east of the new Adair Avenue North. Mr. Sutter stated the county will likely deal with the excess property after the project is completed. The county will also need to provide ground cover then maintain the property while they own it. If the city receives reports that the property is not being maintained, the city will enforce city code, having the property mowed, if necessary, and bill the county for the services. Commissioner Whitenack said the county has offered the property to adjoining land owners during other projects, and may do so in the future with this property. Mr. Sutter said the property is zoned Low Density Residential and any other use would require a public hearing. H. ADJOURNMENT Moved by Commissioner Heigel and seconded by Commissioner VonRueden to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
