2. City Council action on previous Planning Commission items. Commissioner Heigel

G. OPEN FORUM – Council Liaison Deshler asked about the undeveloped portions of the
lots owned by Hennepin County located north of 56th Avenue and east of the new Adair
Avenue North. Mr. Sutter stated the county will likely deal with the excess property after
the project is completed. The county will also need to provide ground cover then
maintain the property while they own it. If the city receives reports that the property is
not being maintained, the city will enforce city code, having the property mowed, if
necessary, and bill the county for the services. Commissioner Whitenack said the
county has offered the property to adjoining land owners during other projects, and may
do so in the future with this property. Mr. Sutter said the property is zoned Low Density
Residential and any other use would require a public hearing.
