A motion by Schmidt, seconded by Dahl, that the salaries of Council.MSMters,
the village Treasurer and the Constables remain the same for the year 1944.

of Ohleen Dairy for a license to operate one (1) milk truck. "Carried"

A motion by Schmidt, seconded by Beonstad, that we approve the application
of Franklin Co-op Creamery Co for a license to operate tura (2) milk Trucks
f or the year 1944. "Carried"
A motion by Bronstad, seconded by Schmidt, that we approve the application
of F. Jeffy for a licenve to sell cigarettes retail for the year 1944.

A motion by Dahl, seconded by Schmidt, that we approve the application of
F. Jeffy for a license to sell soft drinks for the year 1944. "Carried"
A motion by Schmidt, seconded by -Dahl, that we approve the application of
F. Jeffy for a license to sell 3.2 Beer, Off -Sale, for the year 1944.

The President declared Trustee, Bronstad's chair vacant thru his being
elected to an office on his Sohoold Board. The act of qualifying for the
Sohool-Board office automatically cancels his term of office as councilman.

At this point, President C. D. Schultz, offered the following resolution:
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Crystal, Hennepin
County, Minnesota, has received from the Land Commissioner of
Hennepin County, a list of land in said Village of Crystal, which has be-
come the absolute property of the State of Minnesota under the provisions
of laws declaring the forfeiture of lands to the State for taxes, which
lands have been classified by the County Board of said Hennepin County as
non -conservation and for sale, pursuant to the laws of Minnesota for 1935,
Chapter 386, Section 1, as amended, which list of land is designated as
list 93 "Cn, January alst. 1944, and
. HF7REAS, this Board has made a complete examination of all fact
and circumstances relating to such parcels,
NOW THEREFOR, acting pursuant to said Section 1, Chapter 386, as
amended,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village; 0bunci . of said Village of
Crystal a, -,prove the classification of the said County Board of said lands
as non -conservation and for sale.
The question was on the adoption of the resolution, and the roll
being called there were 4 yeas and no nays as f ollows:

A delegation of property owners from Woodland Homes headed by Mr. Stillbeok
were present to discuss the drainage problem peculiar to their locality.
It was agreed that Mr. Stillbeok should most with the Drainage Committee
of the Planning Commission with the idea of attempting to work out some
satisfactory solution to the problem.

At this point the Recorder read the minutes of the Planning,Commission
meeting of May 2, 1944. and in line with written request of the Commission
the Recorder was instructed to write a letter explaining why the Council
had not 6nf orced the Billboard and the Trailer Camp ordinances.
Mr, Arseneau, former operator of the Junk Yard appeared before the Council
with a plea for the renewal of his Junk Yard license, which application
had already gone by the date deadlines He explained that he,had not been
operating the junk yard since last Fall.
A motion by Schmidt, seconded by Bronstad, that we do not renew the Junk
Yard license. "Carriedw
Mr. Schultz appointed Mr. Herb. Malcolm as alternate Building Inspector
during the absence of George Kriokle. :Niro Malcolm will serve as such until
Mr. Kriokle returns. The Recorder was instructed to acquaint Mr. Malcolm
with the duties of the Office.

the drainage problem peculiar to their locality. After discussing the prob-

1944, were read.
A motion by Bronstad, seconded by Schmidt, that, due to the extremely hot
weather anticipated during the.next two months, we hold only one meeting
each month in July and August and that on the fourth Tuesday in the month.
